Tanghe offers cash rewards for beautiful villages

The Tanghe government is offering cash rewards in the county to villages which take active and measurable steps in order to become more beautiful, officials announced at a meeting on July 15.

A 10 million yuan reward ($1.5 million) is being offered to villages which can demonstrate in three areas how they have become more beautiful. The first of the three areas is via an onsite examination by government officials, the second is by application, detailing all the steps taken by the village, and the third is a final presentation of the progress made.

The Party committee and the county government of Tanghe will present the reward to the villages which score highly in all three areas.

Li Decheng, Party chief of Tanghe, Nanyang province said," Work on developing beautiful villages has progressed but is still not enough to meet the demands of local people. All departments should continue to spare no efforts to build beautiful hometowns."

Zhou Tianlong, leader of Tanghe county said," The reward is expected motivate local leaders to put greater efforts into improving their public living environments."
