Flower show to celebrate National Day

October 1 marks the Chinese National Day. Zhenping county in Nanyang, Henan province, is out to color this grand festival.

The county has announced it will hold a lily flower show during the National Day holiday (Oct 1 to 7), as well as a beauty contest.

Lizhai Urban Agricultural Garden in Zhenping has become a sea of hundreds of thousands of blossoming flowers, including rare species such as Asian Lilies, Eastern Lilies, and European Lilies.

Organizers thought the flower festival would make an excellent backdrop for a beauty contest. Local ladies aged between 16 to 36 years old are eligible to enter the contest.
