60,000 extra jobs for Nanyang residents

An extra 60,000 job opportunities have been provided to the local residents of Nanyang, Henan province over the first three quarters in 2016, according to the Nanyang Morning Post.

In order to promote job growth, Nanyang government has held 45 various job fairs in 2016, accommodating 1,486 companies. While 6,000 of college graduates attended, and 2,000 of them found jobs during the fairs.

Statistics show that urban employment has increased by 5.96 million, with 16,700 people having received re-employment training and 7,965 people having received entrepreneurship training.

The number of people engaged in the manufacturing industry still tops, with 38.06 million people, while also showing a gradually shifting trend toward tertiary industries, representing 143,900 people, an increase of 13 percent.

In addition, the local government has issued 550 million yuan ($78.83 million) in business guarantee loans to encourage local residents to start new businesses. The urban registered unemployment rate has been kept within 3 percent.
