Nanyang issued more than 80,300 exit-entry visas in the first half of this year, becoming one of the top three cities in Henan province, it was announced by the exit and entry administration division of Nanyang Municipal Public Security Bureau on Aug 3.
Of the total, more than 39,000 were passport applications, while over 37,000 people applied for the Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau.
According to an official from the exit and entry administration division, the central urban area received more than 26,000 exit-entry applications in the first six months – the top four counties for exit-entry passes handling being Tanghe, Xinye, Fangcheng and Zhenping.
Thanks to rapid economic development and rising living standards, Nanyang witnessed an increase in the number of outbound travellers. The division has rolled out several measures to streamline procedures and increase efficiency.
At present, there are four exit and entry reception halls in the central urban area, at Nanyang Civilian Service Center, Wancheng Administration Service Center, Zhongjing Road and Meixi New Field.
