Xichuan No 1 High School, in Henan province, was listed as an admission base of Tsinghua University at an unveiling ceremony held on Aug 10.
As one of China's most renowned universities, Tsinghua puts a high standard for the source of its students. The selection of its admission base is determined on the number of students entering Tsinghua and the comprehensive quality of students from the high school.
This year, there were three students from Xichuan No 1 High School admitted to Tsinghua and two students admitted to Peking University in the national college entrance examination.
By listing the high school as its admission base, Tsinghua aims to deepen cooperation between the two sides and encourage more students from Xichuan to study to enter Tsinghua, said Xie Xudong, head of Tsinghua's admission group in Henan.
Lu Hanwei, Party secretary of the Xichuan county, extended his hopes that Xichuan No 1 High School will use the ceremony as a starting point to cultivate more talents for the country and society.
