Nanyang signs new energy vehicle project

Nanyang signed up to a new energy vehicle project with Anhui's Xingkailong Coach on Sept 12 in what has been described as a milestone for the city's automobile and spare parts industry.

Zhang Wenshen, Party chief of Nanyang, said at the signing that local government views the new energy vehicle assembly project as a key step to upgrading the city's equipment manufacturing industry. The city will ensure sound administrative service and a favorable business environment to the Hefei-based company, he said.

Jiang Weiming, the president of Xingkailong Coach said that the company will integrate resources in Nanyang's automobile and spare parts industry and build an industrial cluster in new energy vehicle sector.

The two sides agreed on pushing the auto sector to grow into a pillar industry of Nanyang's economy.
