Two Nanyang foreign trade bases gain national status

Two foreign trade transformation & upgrading bases in Xixia county, Nanyang have been promoted to national level, with one specializing in edible fungi and the other in composite materials, announced Henan Provincial Commerce Department on Feb 26.

A foreign trade transformation & upgrading base could be one of the following roles: an industrial cluster, economic and technological development zone, hi-tech development zone, customs area under special supervision and demonstration industrial park.

However, only those which possess competitive advantages, distinctive regional chrematistics, comprehensive public service systems, development potential and innovation ability will be recognized by the Ministry of Commerce.

According to a bureau official, eight other foreign trade transformation & upgrading bases in Henan province were promoted to state level as well. This recognition will assist foreign trade firms in structural optimization so that they may be a driving force in the region.
