Intl cooperation in education reached to cultivate talent

Nanyang Normal University (NYNU) will partner with Tongmyong University (TU) for talent cultivation by bringing students together under a cooperative agreement signed on May 15.

During the signing ceremony, Zhu Qichun, chairman of NYNU's labor union, gave a basic rundown of the university and its School of International Education to the TU delegation.

Founded in 1907, NYNU is an old institution of higher education in Nanyang and is reputed for its biochemistry, ancient Chinese history, and pedagogy disciplines. Over decades, it has forged partnerships with multiple world-reknowned universities and trained a large number of talented and specialized international students.

According to Zhu, NYNU has been enriched through all kinds of cooperation and exchange programs previously conducted with South Korean universities, which laid a solid foundation for its future cooperation with TU. The two universities are expected to use the agreement as a starting point for bringing exchange programs to a new level.

Located in Busan, the second largest city in South Korea, TU is a comprehensive university with an internatonal vision and has been named an Excellent University of Eductional Reform for five consecutive years. It is certified by the International Education Quality Assurance System, for having high standards for the recruitment and management of foreign students.
