Shandong merchants gather in Nanyang for economic cooperation

Hundreds of prominent merchants from Shandong province visited Nanyang to seek economic and trade cooperation from May 19 to 20 at the invitation of the Shandong Chamber of Commerce in Henan Province.

The event is aimed at strengthening ties between Nanyang and Shandong and increasing investment in Nanyang among Shandong merchants.

More than 160 Shandong delegates attended the promotional conference chaired by Kong Fanzhi, deputy director of the Nanyang Bureau of Commerce, and Cheng Zhiguo of the Xichuan Investment Promotion Bureau. The delegates were given a rundown of Nanyang's natural resources, investment environment, and preferential policies.

The Shandong Chamber of Commerce inked agreements with the Nanyang government on 17 investment projects. It will also work with the Xichuan government on poverty relief under a strategic cooperation agreement signed the same day.

There are more than 3,000 Shandong enterprises in Henan, of which over 20 were introduced by the Shandong Chamber of Commerce, with 10 billion yuan ($1.56 billion) in investments. Geographical advantages and development prospects in Nanyang are currently attracting even more investment.
