Nanyang ranks 47th in China by city brand

Nanyang ranked 47th among the top 100 Chinese prefecture-level cites in terms of city brand with an overall score of 365.89, according to an experimental ranking released at the 2018 China City Conference on May 26.

The score was graded in accordance with the national standard Brand Assessment – City published by the Standardization Administration of the PRC in 2017. China City News, the China National Institute of Standardization, the China Council for Brand Development, and Minzu University of China spent two years setting the standard, which went through 13 rounds of professional reviews.

A specialized team analyzed 297 domestic cities (excluding provincial capitals and sub-provincial cities) in five areas, including politics, economy, culture, ecology, environment, and social services. Data was provided by the National Bureau of Statistics, the State Information Center, and other relevant ministries and commissions.

The evaluation is one of the State Council projects listed in the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) and supported by the Ministry of Finance. It's meant to draw on advanced foreign experience in urban development, and propel the sustainable development of domestic cities.
