Mobile payment available on all Nanyang buses

As of June 13, all 840 buses on the 37 bus routes in urban Nanyang had accepted mobile payment via UnionPay bank cards or QR codes, according to the Nanyang Public Transportation Corporation.

Passengers can download the Nanyang Mashangxing or UnionPay Cloud Quick Pass app and link a bankcard to their account, which allows them to pay bus fares by scanning a QR code. They can also simply tap the UnionPay cards near the scanning areas of compatible point-of-sale (POS) terminals to process payment.

Mobile payment has become increasingly popular among Nanyang residents, as it saves them the trouble of digging for change or waiting in long queues.
