Students sail on social practices tour in Nanyang

Eleven postgraduate students from Tsinghua and Peking universities majoring in physical electronics, mechanical engineering, water resources and hydropower engineering, and law, started their six weeks of social practice in Nanyang on July 3.

Lv Tinglin, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nanyang Municipal Committee, welcomed the students. He promised to create a good working environment for the students and expected much from them within the next six weeks.

The social practice program was a significant move by Nanyang to bring in talents by enhancing exchanges and cooperation with colleges. It was also meant to help students gain a better understanding of society and hone their skills through hands-on practice, said Lv.

Yu Yang, a doctor of water resources and hydropower engineering from Tsinghua University, said he will take full advantage of the opportunity to apply his knowledge to real-life situations and devote himself to the work.
