In the first half of 2018, Nanyang's express service enterprises delivered 30.06 million packages and accumulated a total revenue of 302 million yuan ($43.8 million), ranking fifth in Henan province.
The postal industry in Nanyang has accumulated 977 million yuan this year, an increase of 11.56 percent over the same period last year. The total value of postal services was 1.185 billion yuan, an increase of 11.19 percent.
A total of 2.47 million items were delivered within the city, an increase of 4.59 percent, a total of 26.91 million items were delivered to remote areas, an increase of 31.17 percent, and a total of 680,000 items were delivered internationally or to Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan, 37.12 percent lower than the same period last year.
In the first half of the year, the total volume of intra-city, remote, and international (or Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) deliveries accounted for 8.21 percent, 89.53 percent, and 2.26 percent of total deliveries, respectively, and accounted for 5.38 percent, 63.27 percent, and 7.85 percent of total revenue, respectively.
With the increasing number of e-commerce platforms, the express delivery industry in Nanyang grew at a rate of 25.47 percent in the first half of the year. Zhou Xiaozhuan, an employee of the Nanyang Post Administration, said that Nanyang's express delivery growth is mainly reflected in international and remote deliveries. The integration of the express delivery industry and e-commerce also promoted the development of foreign trade and local agricultural products.
