Migrant workers receive educational opportunity in Nanyang

Fourteen universities in Henan province are going to enroll 12,000 migrant workers in higher education courses to improve their competency and help them integrate into urban life.

The Nanyang Institute of Technology plans to recruit 400 migrant workers into four majors related to finance, business, equipment manufacturing, and civil construction.

The project, aimed at training and educating migrant workers, plans to recruit 12,000 migrant workers in Henan in need of education. It aims to improve their education level and technical skills and help alleviate poverty, thus accelerating Henan's economic and social development as well as the transformation and upgrading of its industrial structure.

Based on the needs of Henan province, all relevant universities and colleges will set up majors related to food, construction, light industry, electronic information, clothing and apparel, equipment manufacturing, business, logistics, modern agriculture, agricultural product processing, rural tourism, rural service industry, and Internet Plus.

Relevant universities and colleges will provide continuing education and job skills training for eligible migrant workers.

In addition, universities will cooperate with enterprises to create a new personnel training model based on industry demand, position requirements, professional standards, and production processes, ensuring high-quality education and training.
