Nanyang workers spare no effort in building parking lot

Nanyang, Henan province has launched a series of cultural construction and livelihood projects to benefit its citizens, and construction on these projects is proceeding appropriately.

At the city's museum and library project sites, located on the southern side of Guangwu East Road, three tower cranes were set up and workers began getting busy. Guo Jianjun, the manager of the construction project, said the underground parking lot was successfully waterproofed last December and the finishing touches were now being added to the lot.

The underground parking lot will connect with the city's opera house and public art center. Workers have been carrying out the project since Jan 16 and the underground passage projects are expected to be finished in mid-April.

The air-raid shelter project and underground parking lot beneath the city museum and library are located 500 meters east of the Guangwu Bridge. The total building area is 16,832.88 square meters, while the underground parking lot covers an area of 14,056 square meters with 450 parking spots, 45 charging stations for electric vehicles, and four parking spots for disabled people.

Workers were enthusiastic about their work despite having to handle massive workloads in a short period of time. They took just a two-day break during the Spring Festival holiday, during which there were workers on duty at the construction site to ensure everything was going smoothly. They have never complained about the tight schedule and were all full of enthusiasm about completing the task on time and to a high standard.

"It's about the image of Nanyang city. It doesn't matter if we're overworked. If the project makes the city look good, I'm happy," a young worker from the construction team said.
