Nanyang "Singing around the White River" cultural activities begin

Nanyang will hold "Singing around the White River" cultural activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The activities are designed to resolve "the principal contradiction between unbalanced and inadequate development and the people's ever-growing needs for a better life", as set forth at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in October 2017.

The Publicity Department of the CPC Nanyang Municipal Committee have organized a series of performances by local actors and actresses since 2014, disseminating the city's spirit and displaying its new image.

With their unique features, the cultural activities highlight local cultural characteristics, which have formed Nanyang’s unique brand and enriched local people’s lives.

Thirteen performances have been prepared for this year's "Singing around the White River" cultural activities, which will be staged every two weeks from April to September. The performances are generally popular artistic productions in multiple forms. They advocate new original works and highlight local characteristics such as operas, songs, sketches, dances, cross talk and other art categories. All these activities will be performed for public benefits.

The first performance is scheduled for 8 pm on April 26 at the Plaza of the Citizen Service Center in Wolong district.
