Goat hair exports grow in first six months of 2016

Exports of goat hair from Nanyang, Henan province, reached a record high of 39 metric tons in the first half of 2016, bringing in 50 million yuan ($7.49 million), 19.4 percent higher than the same period last year.

Both soft and durable, the goat hair is a highly sought after material for making cosmetic brushes.

Officials from the local entry-exit inspection bureau try to encourage enterprises to develop new markets, and gave their professional suggestions and advice on goat hair processing to producers of the material.

Being highly value-added product, goat hair has become a driving force in the development of Nanyang's agricultural products export trade.
