Sheqi county in Nanyang, Henan province has seen a greater number of farmers increase their incomes after measures implemented by the county government to foster agricultural infrastructure.
In 2014, Tanying village set up 96 greenhouses to develop an organic vegetables industry, resulting in some households earning as much as 20,000 yuan ($3,008) per season.
By prioritizing planting of pears, flowers and trees in the Mopo township, a 6800 mu (453.33 hectares) industry belt has taken shape, lifting more than 50 households out of poverty.
Setting up special poverty-relief platforms and developing brand products are key goals in Sheqi county. The county has stuck to the green agricultural development road and spares no efforts to develop modern agriculture, a local official said.
