'Beautiful Countryside' project takes hold in Nanyang

Rural areas in Nanyang are expected to see further development, as 27 local villages have been listed as pilot regions of the “2017 Henan Beautiful Countryside” project.

The project initiated by the Department of Finance of Henan Province in 2013, aims to further promote villages that boast beautiful scenic landscapes and cultural specialties.

Among all of the pilot villages, four are situated in Xixia county, five in Xinye county, seven in Wolong district and 11 in Wancheng district.

All the listed regions will receive extra governmental financial support to improve public services and the living environment, as well as recreational facilities, which are expected to further narrow the gap between rural and urban areas.
