Tiefosi village in Nanzhao county of Nanyang, Henan province has recently come to public attention for its traditional stone residency complexes.
There are more than 100 ancient houses in the village, 40 of which have a long history of nearly 100 years.

Most of the stone houses are still available for living. The stone material allows the houses to remain cool during the summer heat, and warm during the winter cold.
Besides the unique architecture, rows of plants surrounding the houses also add additional luster to the village. Trees that have existed over 100 years can be seen everywhere in the village, including apricots, tea trees, persimmons, magnolias and wisterias.

Thanks to the rich natural resources, plant-featured horticultural industry and rural tourism leading the economic development of the village, extra revenue has been brought to local villagers selling various species of plants to cities around the country such as Beijing, Shanghai and Zhengzhou.
