Nanyang dried onions appeal to Malaysian market

By Huang Chenkuang(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated: 2017-01-09

Some 1,400 boxes of Nanyang-produced dried onions worth 935,000 yuan ($135,000) have cleared customs, ready to be exported to Malaysia.

It is the first time that processed onions - a popular seasoning in Southeastern Asian cuisine - from Nanyang have entered the overseas market, according to the entry-exit inspection and quarantine bureau.

The export ushers in a new chapter for the local food industry, expectant on future orders from outside the domestic market.

To ensure the highest quality of dried onions entering the Malayasioan market, the Nanyang entry-exit inspection and quarantine bureau has implemented stringent quality control measures.
