The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanyang Medical College has passed an expert review to be named a national 3A-grade hospital, according to a public notice from the Health and Family Planning Commission of Henan Province.
It is now the only national comprehensive 3A-grade hospital integrating clinic treatment, medical education and research in western Henan. With a floor area of 90,000 square meters, it has 1,260 beds and a raft of advanced medical devices such as Brilliance iCT, and Achieva 1.5T.
Reputed for its characteristic disciplines and cutting-edge medical technologies, the hospital receives patients from Sichuan, Shaaxi, Anhui, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia and Tibet who come to Nanyang for better treatment.
The 3A-grade is the top honor that a hospital can receive in the three-tier medical system of China. A 3A hospital must have more than 500 beds and be able to provide professional medical services to patients from several regions, while showing initiative in medical education and scientific research.
