Nanyang tourism income hits new high during holiday period

Due to the good weather and the region's rich tourism resources, Nanyang enjoyed a new high in tourism revenue during the seven-day National Day holiday.

Countryside and folk customs tours proved more popular than ever although family trips remained the main trend. Fruit picking, fishing and visiting ancient towns were also very popular.

During Golden Week, tourist attractions in Nanyang carried out a variety of activities to attract visitors. Laojieling Scenic Spot held a bamboo dance and folk song performances from the Wa ethnic group, while Laojun Cave Scenic Spot hosted folk activities and marathon competitions. Water park events were held at Qifeng Mountain Scenic Spot, and a picking festival was enjoyed by visitors at Wuduo Mountain.

As national 5A-level tourist attractions, the Dinosaur Relic Park and Laojieling Scenic Spot attracted tourists from cities in Henan province and beyond, with more than 20,000 visitors a day. Neixiang Local Magistrate's Office reported receiving 117,000 tourists during the holiday, an increase of 26 percent.

Services were available to all visitors at each tourist attraction, including consulting, parking services and ticket purchasing.
